Let me present my school !

Its name is Jean Aviotte and it’s a middle school located in Guîtres in the middle of the countryside, at 4 Grand Rue and we are about 500 students from Year 7 to Year 10 to study here.

There are plenty of clubs to join and attend in my school which satisfies many students because they can practise their hobbies here. I think it’s quite cool because it’s uncommon to have such a diversity of clubs here, in the countryside.

To begin with the clubs, I will talk about the chess club. First, you can attend the chess club on Mondays at ten to one which is organized by Mr Souillé for the strategic minds and tactical geniuses. I love chess because it makes me think a lot because it’s difficult but it’s cool because I like difficult things to surpass myself.

Next, there is a DIY club where you make jewelry and other things with lefties of fabric and all sorts of recyclable materials to give them a second life. I guess it is interesting given that it’s environnemental friendly so it’s a good action to preserve our Earth from pollution and from the waste of materials. It’s organized by Mrs Nazaries and Mrs Lepoivre who are very good teachers but there is a problem : we can’t go to it because it’s on Tuesdays at ten to one and we have Physical Education at the same time. I’m assuming it’s a good intiative but I don’t like manual activities so maybe you will like it, we can’t know for sure.

After, there is choir ! it’s a club organized my Mr Taher where you can sing your heart out on excellent songs with a group of people. You can participate to events like the school outing to Libourne which happened last Thursday. They missed all of their classes to sing with all the choirs of the sector like a huge orchestra ! But there isn’t any music instruments, but why we need one when we have our voices ? However, before the show, you have to train ! So, at ten to one on Fridays, you can go to the Music classroom with all your classmates to train !

If you like sports and you think Physical Education is not enough, you can go to the Sports Association to play ping-pong, a very popular sport at the moment thnaks to  the Olympic Games of Paris which brought popularity to many sports because of top performances and medals by French athletes. There is a likelihood that you will become somewhat addicted to ping-pong because it is an exciting sport but I’m not very interested in it so I’m not participating.

Then, on Wednesdays, at a quarter to one, you can attend AS but before going to it, you have to take a yearly fee subscription to play badminton and it takes three hours (it ends at 4 PM). Once a month, you can go to RAID at the synthetic stadium of Guîtres (I am not sure at all about this). However, it’s for the sporty people so I’m not sure I am capable of going to it because my skills are not underwhelming at all, I am not into this and I haven’t got the will of going to extra sport.

Even without the clubs, you still have plenty of activities to do if you have friends, which is surely the case. You can hang out with them, play hide and seek given that there are many hidding spots in the school. However, we cannot play run and catch games as we are too many in this middle school and you risk pushing people and harming them.

The playground is composed of two parts: the upper part, which is in part a covered playground where you can sit on movable benches. That is cool because you can place it and sit anywhere in the upper part! In the lower playground, which has the biggest area, you can sit on two types of benches: the coloured ones who just got repainted from yellow, blue and pink to orange, green and purple last holidays and around the trees, the wooden ones but it’s not practical because there are always clothes and backpacks on them because people don’t use their lockers. I think lockers are a good idea but they are tiny so, for two people, it is not practical. Therefore, they prefer letting their backpacks full of their things outside where people can steal them. I think it’s weird because I always put my things in my locker.

Therefore, I prefer chatting with my friends because it’s much easier and given that they are kind with me and they are cool!

Moving on to academics, we have to attend plenty of classes: French, Math, English, Biology, Physics and so on… You can attend these classes in twenty classrooms in two buildings. If you want, during lunchtime at ten to one, you can go to open class if you need to study for a test or you have to complete an exercise. Also, there are teachers who you can ask for help to if you need it, but it is not the same teachers every day.

At last, there are many trips and school outings, which is cool because it makes us travel! Depending on your grade, you can go to:
-The Abbey of Guîtes for Year 7
-For Year 8 it’s a sports trip to the Pyrénées (Activités Physiques de Pleine Nature) organized by Mrs Bourmont and Mr Auffret.
-Last couple of years there was a school outing for Year 9 but it was cancelled this year.
-For Year 10 there are two trips: one part will go to England (Trip4Freaks) with Mr Pappalardo and the other part will go to Normandy (Duty2Remember) with Mrs Letuffe. Both look amazing.

These trips are funded by the FSE who get the funds from the subscriptions to the foyer, by some donations by the parents but most importantly from chocolates’ sells and sells by the DIY club.

THAT’S MY SCHOOL!

Enzo

Well, first of all, let us present our school Jean Aviotte!

Our school is located in Guîtres, in a little countryside. It’s not a huge school but there are about 500 students and a lot of classes. Our school has two playgrounds. They are not very huge, but they are very cool and colorful.

Now, let us talk about schools subjects: there are sciences, maths, French, arts, history and geography, music, and others. The teachers and cool and if you study hard, you can get good grades !

Next, there are many hobbies and activities (clubs). For example: the DIY club. In this club, you can make jewelery (like earings, bracelets, rings) or for the Y7, you can sew phone pouches. Mrs Nazaries and Mrs Lepoivre are in charge of this workshop. They are both very nice. We liked this club but we left because we have too much homework and because we like studying better.

By the way, if you like studying, there is the « open class » ! It’s very practical if you have homework for the day after. Many teachers are in charge of « open class » and they are very kind. You can study and have a laugh too. It’s a happy place.

Next, you can join the AS (Sports Association) where you can play badminton, table tennis, bike and run, among other things. We’re not part of this club but we think it’s cool !! We are not so sporty ! Duh.

Then, there is the choir. Our music teacher Mr. Taher runs it. You can join this club if you like singing. I guess it’s very cool !! Also, there is a huge concert at the end of the year.

You can also join the chess club if you like playing chess. We suppose, there are other clubs but here are the main clubs. Anyways, it’s amazing because every kid can attend a club they like.

Now, let us talk about school trips!! For the Y7 and Y8, there are no school trip this year – but they sometimes have school outings in the area –  but for Y8, (that’s us !) there is a school trip in June!!! We are going to go rock climbing, cycling, canyoning and other things in the Pyrénées with our PE teachers ! We think it’s going to be cool. We are so excited !

The Y10 are so lucky, they will go to England !!

Faustine, Adèle, Flavy

Well let me present my school.

My school’s name is Jean Aviotte – or JA – where there are five hundred pupils and around thirty teachers. I love this school because it is located in a little countryside called Guîtres and because you can do a lot of things and make many friends. On top of that, the teachers are incredible.

In this school there are three playgrounds. First there is the lower playground where there is a big inner courtryard where there are lockers. Then there is the middle playground where there is the canteen (the best building ever lol) and an inner courtryard like in the lower playground. At last there is the upper playground for me it’s the best playground because there are colorful benches you can move around.

Like I said before, let me speak of the best building the CANTEEN😊. I suppose you guessed right… I like food. In the canteen you can eat many different types of food. On Wednesday it’s the best day because you can eat good food but it’s not so healthy as it’s often fat.

Now let’s speak of clubs. If I remember right, there are six clubs in Jean Aviotte.

You can join the chess club (I don’t like it because I’m so bad at chess), there is the A.S club too. In the A.S club you can practice many sports like running bike, ultimate and other sports on Wednesday afternoons. At lunch break, you can attend other clubs like A.S ping pong, choir twice a week if you like singing, DIY and photography workshop.

So let me speak about those clubs more specifically. First the chess club : chess is a war type board game, putting two players against each other on either side of the board called a « chessboard » made up of a square grid drawing sixty-four squares, alternately light and dark.

Next let me speak of the DIY workshop : the kids who join the DIY workshop create objects and other things.

To finish I will present to you the A.S. A.S is an extracurricular activity where you can do ping pong, running bike, ultimate and other sports.

Now let’s speak about EURO. EURO is a subject ever but you can take it only in two languages. You can join EURO Spanish with Mrs Richon and EURO English with Mr PAPS in Y9 and with Mrs LETUFFE in Y10. I know with PAPS in Y9 we speak of history. It suppose it’s the same in Y10.

There are the eco-embassadors too. They take care of the composter and the compost. They also try to do things for the planet with MRs Vernier Couasnon.

To finish my presententation, let’s speak of school outings and trips. The Y7 can visit to the abbey of Guîtres, the Y8 – so my classmates and I – can go to Pyrénées and the Y10 can go to the UK !

My school is cool right ?

Elric (in solo 😢)

Well let us present our School.

Our school is located in the countryside. The school’s name is Jean Aviotte school. We are fine hundred students so it’s quite a tiny school but it’s cool because every body knows eachother. Though it’s tiny school there are lot of good teachers but our favourite teacher is mister Paps ; he’s our English’s teacher.

The grounds are nice : there is the lower playground and the upper playground with many colors.

Moving on to the bells now ! Last year we could choose the bells but this year Paps choses. It’s cool because it’s varied. We are lucky !

Let’s me talk about the clubs now. Indeed in your school there are many clubs you can attend. First there is AS, with AS you can play table tennis, you can cycle, play badminton, jog on Wednesdays ; and you can play table tennis in the lower playground. Actually, with AS you can practice many sports. It’s every wednesday afternoon. It’s challing and good fun, as you can do championships.

Every friday you can attend choir if you like singing but my friends and I don’t like this club… Sining is boring. Actually you can play an instrument. This club is run by our music teacher.

About DIY workshop. It’s every Tuesday at ten to 1 pm with our technology and French teacher. You can create many objects.

I’m not sure but I think there is an Art club so I guess it’s with our art teacher.

Moving on to the chess club where you can play chess. We believe it’s run by Mr Soullier.

About the food now. Yes, we are French, so food is like, very important. Last year the food was very bad but this year it is very good.

Let’s talk about trips. We are quite lucky because I have friends in other schools and they have no trips at all ! Year 8 can go to the Pyrénées and Year 10 can go to the UK. How cool is that ?

Evan & Arthur

Let us present my school. My school’s name is «Jean Aviotte».

In my school there are colorful benches. This playground is very small. It’s not so cool because it’s often crowded. Indeed, there are 500 students also in my school.

In my school, there are many clubs you can attend at lunch time.

First, there is the chess club with Mr Souillé ; there is the « AS » too : it’s every Wednesday afternoon. You can do archery, play badminton, orienteering, cycling and every Mondays and Thursdays there are tennis-table tournaments. It’s run by Mr. AUFFRET, Mrs. BOURMONT and Mrs. SERRANO.
You can attend choir with M. TAHER. It is on Friday. Next we can join the DIY’s club, it’s on Tuesday afternoons.

Once a year there is a school festival organized by Mr Pappalardo. You have fun and laugh. It’s awesome. We can also show our talent in front of the whole school.

About academics, in my school you can study History and Geography, Arts, English, Biology, Spanish, Science, Technology, Maths, Sport, Media, Music and French.

In my school there are also the star teachers, there are the teachers you can talk to. There is also the FSE where you can buy the school’s clothes.

Alice & Elyna

Let us present our school. My school Jean Aviotte in Gironde, in the South West of France. My school is very cool because as it is tiny, we all know eachothers a little. The students are really cool, smart and fun. I also like this school because there is a lot of colors and a lot of flowers and plants.

In the playground you can also play table-tennis, run with your friends and have a laugh with your best friends. Also you can sit on the moving benches or on the wooden benches. It’s cool you can hang out with your crew.

Moving on to the clubs you can attend at Lunch break. The first club is AS. It’s a club that includes lots of sports. First of all, you can play table tennis, which takes place on Mondays and Thursdays from 12.50pm to 1.45pm. Then you can also do three hours of sports on Wednesday afternoons from 1.45pm to 4.50pm. There are also many other sports, such as running, orienteering, relays, etc.

Then last year, there was the glee club. It’s an English choir run by Mr Paps. Thanks to this club, at the end of the year, all the singers went to the abbey church to give a sort of mini-concert in English. This year Mr Taher runs the choir.

Next you can join the DIY workshop run by Mrs Nazaries and Mrs Lepoivre. It’s a pretty cool workshop, because you can create lots of things like key rings or objects, but I don’t attend because I’m not very handy.

Then there’s the choir, it’s a club where you can sing every Tuesday and Friday from 12:50 pm to 13:45 pm. We sing French, English and Spanish songs. I’m not in this club because I’m a very bad singer.

Finally, I’m going to tell you about the best club in the whole school, the FSE, which helps finance the outings for all the classes, such as a trip to England for some of the Year 8 classes and a sports trip to the Pyrenees for all the Year 10 classes. Thanks to the FSE, we can also go to the students’ lounge, a place where we can go when we have a free period. You can play table football or board games, sit on the sofas and chat with our friends and have a laugh. It’s a really nice place and I love going there. You have to pay seven euros to join the FSE; it’s run by Mr Pappalardo, the best teacher ever (it’s just our opinion). He also organises the School festival which is brilliant. Mr Gagner organises the School prom for the Y10.

Jules & Tyler

Let us present our school Jean Aviotte !

In the school there are five hundred teenagers. About academics, we study French with Mrs Aloy and Mrs Balcerak. They are both nice. We can study English with the best teacher ever: Mr Paps! Spanish with Mrs Richon: she is cool; Mathematics with Mrs Multner: she is nice but very strict. There is also PE : it is so very cool! Because it’s Mr Auffret and he’s the best.

On the grounds, there are two buildings, two playgrounds, there are many rainbow stairs. Well, there are three trees and two hundred thirty six lockers. Yes we counted. There is a lower playground where we can play table tennis, run, hang out with friends, draw and eat in the caferia etc…
In the upper playground, we can read, relax but we can’t run because it’s a quiet playground. Although we can move the benches. There are six A.E.D.: Maëva, Thyffen, Margot, Camille, Xavier and Gladys. They are very cool!

Now, let us speak about the FSE:
The FSE helps the school, it finances the trips: the Y8, will go to the Pyrenees with Mrs Bourmont, Mrs Vernier Couasnon and Mr Auffret and other tearchers ; the Y10 Picadilly and Omaha will go to the United Kingdom with Mr Paps and the Y10 Sword and Utah will go to Normandy and England with Mrs Lassaque and Mrs Letuffe.

Last autumn, Paps organised a chocolate sale and everyone in the school helped. He also created a clothing line with the school logo.

At lunck break, you can attend choir if you like singing. Then, you can attend the chess club for the big brains.

The A.S. is awesome : you can practise a lot of sports :
Table tennis is on Monday and on thursday at noon. I signed up because it is so very good!!!
On wednesdays, there are a lot of cool sports ! The raid, badminton and racing. They are very cool, you should join !

Maëlan, Kylian & Lucas
